Overview
A dental X-ray is a diagnostic imaging test in which low-dose radiation is used to create detailed pictures of the teeth, gums, jawbone, and surrounding structures that cannot be seen by the naked eye.
During the test, X-ray beams pass through the soft tissues of the mouth and are absorbed differently by harder structures such as teeth and bone. Aftercare
Because a dental X-ray is a non-invasive (no cutting or injection involved) imaging test, there is no recovery period. You can eat, drink, drive, and carry on with your normal day immediately after the images are taken. The aftercare focuses entirely on understanding your results and following up on anything found.
