Overview

About Thomson.

Thomson Medical Centre (TMC) is a private specialist hospital at 339 Thomson Road in Singapore, with a longstanding focus on women’s and children’s healthcare. Established in 1979, the 187-bed hospital is part of Thomson Medical Group and has built its clinical profile around maternity, obstetrics, gynaecology, fertility, neonatal and paediatric care, while also providing a growing range of specialist services for adults.

Thomson Medical supports women throughout the pregnancy and reproductive health journey, including fertility care, antenatal and postnatal services, obstetrics, high-risk pregnancy management, maternal-fetal medicine and gynaecological care. Its maternity services include options for natural birth, caesarean delivery and water birth, with Thomson Medical being the only hospital in Singapore that currently offers water birth. The hospital's established maternity practice also contributes to its high delivery volume, with Thomson Medical stating that one in five babies in Singapore is born at Thomson Medical.

Beyond women’s and children’s health, TMC provides specialist services including orthopaedics, ENT, urology, gastroenterology, vascular surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, oncology, general surgery, dermatology and sleep medicine. Diagnostic imaging, medical laboratory services, health screening and a 24-hour Urgent Care Centre complement its specialist care.

For patients travelling to Singapore, Thomson Medical's International Patient Services team assists with specialist appointments, medical enquiries, teleconsultations, visa and visit-pass requirements, interpretation, accommodation and travel arrangements. With its established maternity and paediatric expertise alongside broader specialist services, Thomson Medical Centre provides an integrated healthcare option for women, children and families in Singapore.

I’m incredibly grateful to lactation consultant Kacy for her support during what was a very stressful and emotional period of my breastfeeding journey. From the very beginning, she was patient, kind, and reassuring, taking the time to truly listen to my concerns and tailor her advice to my situation. What stood out most was how she consistently went above and beyond—not just during our consultations, but also in the follow-up support she provided when I needed guidance. Her knowledge is exceptional, and she explains things in a very clear, straightforward, and practical way that makes it easy to understand what to do next. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any parent looking for expert support delivered with both care and clarity.

I recently attended the maternity tour at Thomson Medical Center, guided by Grace Au, and it was an incredibly reassuring and informative experience. From the moment the tour began, Grace’s warm and approachable personality made everyone feel comfortable, especially for first-time parents who may have many uncertainties. She explained each aspect of the maternity journey clearly, from admission procedures to delivery room options. What stood out was how detailed yet easy to understand her sharing was—she anticipated common concerns and addressed them proactively. Grace also took the time to answer every question patiently, never making anyone feel rushed. Walking through the facilities gave a strong sense of confidence in the hospital’s cleanliness, organization, and overall environment. The rooms were well-maintained, and the amenities available for both mother and baby were thoughtfully designed. Grace highlighted practical details such as what to prepare before admission and what to expect during the stay, which made the whole process feel much less daunting. Overall, the tour was well-paced, informative, and genuinely helpful. Grace’s professionalism combined with her friendly demeanor made the session engaging and reassuring. I would highly recommend this maternity tour to any expecting parents considering Thomson Medical Center—it really helps you feel more prepared and confident for the journey ahead.
