Dr. James Wee Liang Hao is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Oxford Orthopaedics and Integrated Specialist Centre, Singapore. He specializes in hip and knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery, and complex limb reconstruction. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 2005, where he was placed on the Dean’s List and awarded the Ivan Polunin Gold Medal. He completed postgraduate specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom) in 2015. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in complex revision hip and knee replacement at Oxford University Hospitals, United Kingdom, where he developed expertise in minimally invasive and partial knee replacement techniques, including the Oxford Partial Knee System. He further subspecialized in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London, United Kingdom, focusing on sports injuries, deformities, and degenerative conditions. He also received limb reconstruction training using Ilizarov and computer-assisted hexapod techniques in Austria, Italy, and South Africa, with expertise in limb lengthening and deformity correction. Dr. Wee is experienced in robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery (Mako, ROSA, NAVIO systems), Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) hip replacement, and minimally invasive hip and knee replacement techniques aimed at improving recovery and surgical precision. He manages complex revision surgeries including failed implants, infections, and severe deformities. He is also actively involved in medical education as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Senior Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and faculty member in the NHG-AHPL Orthopaedic Residency Programme.
