Organ Function Screening
Free & no obligation · Replies in minutes
This two-part package begins with a full-night level-1 polysomnography (PSG) in our dedicated Sleep Lab — monitoring EEG, ECG, oxygen saturation, airflow, effort, and leg movements — followed the next morning by a pulmonary function test (spirometry, DLCO, lung volumes by body plethysmography), a 6-minute walk test with oxygen saturation, low-dose CT chest (LDCT), and a 45-minute consultation with A/Prof. Daniel Chua to review all results and formulate a treatment plan. For patients diagnosed with OSA, CPAP titration can be initiated the same day. The package includes all overnight sleep lab nursing support, morning breakfast, and a written sleep study and lung function report.

Terms & Conditions
This package covers one overnight Level-1 polysomnography session and one morning lung function and CT assessment; repeat studies are charged separately
CPAP initiation is included if OSA is confirmed; CPAP device purchase or rental, mask consumables, and ongoing CPAP supplies are not included in the package price
If the PSG study is technically unsatisfactory due to patient movement or sensor dislodgement, a repeat study may be required at a reduced fee
LDCT chest imaging interpretation is included; additional CT-guided lung biopsy or bronchoscopy, if required, is charged at standard procedural rates
The package does not include respiratory medications prescribed at the post-programme consultation
Package Included
- Full-night Level-1 in-laboratory polysomnography (PSG) monitoring EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, SpO2, airflow, respiratory effort, and limb movements
- Pulmonary function testing: spirometry (pre- and post-bronchodilator), DLCO, and lung volumes by body plethysmography
- 6-minute walk test (6MWT) with continuous pulse oximetry and Borg scale dyspnoea rating
- Low-dose CT (LDCT) chest scan for lung nodule detection, emphysema quantification, and airway assessment
- Overnight sleep lab nursing support and morning breakfast in the Sleep Centre
Benefits
- Level-1 polysomnography is the gold standard for OSA diagnosis, providing far greater diagnostic accuracy than home sleep tests
- Combined lung function, imaging, and sleep assessment in a single two-day programme eliminates the need for multiple separate appointments
- LDCT detects lung nodules as small as 2 mm, enabling early-stage lung cancer surveillance in high-risk patients including long-term smokers
- Body plethysmography measures total lung capacity and residual volume with greater accuracy than spirometry alone
- Same-day CPAP initiation allows OSA patients to begin therapy immediately rather than waiting for a separate follow-up
What to Expect
- Day 1 evening: Check into the Sleep Centre (typically 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm); orientation by the sleep technologist
- Electrode and sensor attachment for polysomnography: scalp EEG leads, ECG, SpO2 finger probe, nasal cannula, chest and abdominal effort belts, and limb EMG electrodes
- Sleep from approximately 10:30 pm with continuous overnight monitoring by the sleep technologist
- Morning wake-up at approximately 6:00 am; electrode removal and light breakfast provided in the Sleep Centre
- Transfer to the Respiratory Function Laboratory for spirometry, DLCO, and body plethysmography testing
Preparation
- Avoid napping on the day of the overnight sleep study to ensure adequate sleep pressure at night
- Avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, cola) after 12:00 noon on the day of the study
- Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the sleep study, as alcohol suppresses REM sleep and worsens OSA severity
- Shower and wash hair before arriving at the Sleep Centre — clean, product-free scalp ensures better EEG electrode contact
- Bring comfortable pyjamas or loose nightwear, your own pillow if preferred, and any CPAP device you currently use
