Dr Chan Wan Xian is a cardiologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore. Sriram ShankarFRCS

Dr Sriram Shankar is a cardiothoracic surgeon practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. While he runs his practices at Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Dr Shankar is also a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at National Heart Centre. Dr Shankar was the recipient of Dr Rama Rao Gold Medal Anatomy in 1978, First Prize of Honor in Microbiology in 1980 and Service Quality Bronze in 2001. Dr Shankar moved to Singapore in September 1990 but returned to England in 1995 to further specialise. During this stint, he spent a year with Dr William J Brawn FRCS and Dr B Sethia, FRCS at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Dr Shankar has since helped establish the Paediatric Cardiothoracic service at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he was the Head of services till March 2009. Dr Shankar has had extensive experience with Adult Cardiac Surgery, having performed over 1000 off-pump procedures for patients with Coronary Artery Disease. He is trained to undertake Valve restorative operations for both Children & Adults, with vast experience in both. He has had excellent results with patients with aortic disease, especially aneurysm surgery and surgery for acute type 1 aortic dissection. Hwang Siew Yoong Jason

Dr Hwang Siew Yoong Jason is an Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) surgeon. Dr Hwang was born in Malaysia and speaks fluent English and Malay. He was awarded the ASEAN scholarship by the Singapore government at the age of 12 and subsequently completed the rest of his education in Singapore. At the National University of Singapore, he was awarded the Tan Hiak Kew scholarship and completed his medical degree in 1996. His subsequent basic and advanced surgical training has given him extensive experience, having worked at all five major hospitals in Singapore. In 2006, with a scholarship from the Singapore Ministry of Health, Dr Hwang underwent sub-specialty rhinology training at McGill University and the University of Montreal in Canada. There, he was trained by Professor Martin Desrosiers in the management of difficult sinus diseases and complex endoscopic sinus surgery. In 2007, he subsequently worked with Professor Ludger Klimek at the Center for Rhinology and Allergy in Wiesbaden, Germany. Dr Hwang is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, Member of the European Rhinologic Society and Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society. Besides general ENT work for adults and children, his sub-specialty interest is in nasal allergy, immunotherapy, recalcitrant sinusitis, nasal polyps, revision sinus surgery, computer image guided surgery and endoscopic sinonasal tumor excision. Dr Hwang is actively involved in clinical and research work and publishes scientific papers and speaks at many International and local meetings and conferences. Aside from clinical work, Dr Chia was an adjunct assistant professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore where she received numerous teaching awards for her exemplary teaching. Dr Chia's research interests include gynaecological cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, and has participated in related landmark clinical trials. Chuah Sai Wei

He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and did his specialist training in OBGYN in Singapore. He was a visiting professor in orthopaedics to Ningxia Medical College in China, and emeritus consultant in orthopaedics to Liaocheng People’s Hospital in Shandong, China. He is also an adjunct professor of orthopaedics at the Duke-NUS Medical School, and associate professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is also an examiner for the Master of Medicine (Orthopaedics) in NUS, and an examiner for the Thai Hip and Knee Society fellowship examinations. Yeo Poh Shuan Daniel

He also undertook simultaneous training in transoesophageal echocardiography at the Cleveland Clinic. In 2012, he obtained a diploma in adult echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography, US. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, and fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a founding member of the Singapore Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and a founding member of the Heart Failure Society (Singapore). Dr Yeo taught medical students and junior doctors when he was a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was a local site principal investigator for several pivotal clinical trials in current cardiology such as the PARADIGM study, IMPROVE-IT study, LEPHT study, SHOP study, ASIAN-HF study at TTSH.
