Dr. Henry Chan is a certified Orthopedic Surgeon accredited by the Ministry of Health Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2004 and later obtained his Master of Medicine in Orthopedic Surgery in 2009. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and completed his advanced surgical training, being conferred Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2013. Dr. Chan was awarded the Human Manpower Development Program (HMDP) scholarship by the Ministry of Health Singapore, under which he completed a fellowship in Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at the Helios Endo-Klinik in Hamburg, Germany. He previously led the Joint Replacement Unit at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and has performed over 1,000 joint replacement surgeries. He is experienced in advanced joint reconstruction techniques and is actively involved in international teaching and surgical training across Asia. His clinical expertise includes computer-assisted joint replacement surgery such as total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and unicompartmental knee replacement using pinless navigation, patient-specific instrumentation, and robotic-assisted surgery (Makoplasty). He also manages complex revision joint replacement cases including infection, loosening, dislocation, stiffness, and periprosthetic fractures. In addition, he treats general orthopaedic conditions including fractures, sports injuries, ligament and meniscus tears, and spine conditions such as prolapsed intervertebral discs. Dr. Chan is actively involved in academic training as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NUS and core faculty in the Orthopedic Residency Programme under NHG.
