Wong Siew Wei

Dr Wong Siew Wei is a medical oncologist at Gleneagles Hospital. His areas of expertise and interests are in prostate, kidney, bladder, upper gastrointestinal and lung cancers. Prior to private practice, Dr Wong was a consultant medical oncologist at Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre (JHSIMC) and Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He was also a visiting consultant medical oncologist for the National Healthcare Group (NHG). He graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia and then underwent training in medical oncology in Victoria, Australia, culminating in a fellowship in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Dr Wong holds a clinical diploma in palliative care from the Victorian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, Australia. While at JHSIMC and TTSH, Dr Wong was involved in multidisciplinary tumour boards in gastrointestinal, thoracic and genitourinary malignancies, and led a number of clinical trials. He has also been an invited speaker regionally. Besides his clinical work, he was the programme director of NHG’s medical oncology training programme. He also served as a member of TTSH’s drug and therapeutics committee. Dr Wong was a clinical teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University. He has lectured at various oncology meetings at both national and regional levels, especially on the topic of genitourinary cancers, and given several public talks on cancer awareness.

Dr Ang Peng Tiam graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery in 1982. He did his residency in Internal Medicine and was conferred the Master of Medicine(Internal Medicine) in 1986. He completed his Fellowship in Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, Texas and Stanford University Medical Centre in 1989. Dr Ang was awarded Singapore President's scholarship in 1977. He was awarded the Prof Sir Gordon Arthur Ransome Gold medal for being the top candidate in the Master of Medicine Clinical Examinations in 1986, and Singapore's National Science Award in 1996 for his outstanding contributions in Medical Research. In recognition of his public service, the Sultan of Kedah conferred upon him a datukship in 2003. Dr Ang was founding Head of the Department of Medical Oncology at Singapore General Hospital from 1991 to 1997. He held the concurrent post of Director of the Oncology Centre and Clinical Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, NUS. He remains a Visiting Consultant at National Cancer Centre. He is the Vice Chairman of Singapore Cancer Society, Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of Breast Cancer Foundation. He was past President of Singapore Society of Oncology. He maintains a keen interest in research and has published and presented more than 100 papers and abstracts.

Dr. Johann Tang is a Radiation Oncologist at Farrer Park Hospital and Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr. Tang further advanced his expertise through multiple international fellowships including breast brachytherapy at the University of Wisconsin, prostate brachytherapy and pediatric radiation oncology training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Australia, as well as training at Arizona Breast Cancer Specialist Centre. He served at NUH for 18 years, where he held leadership roles across breast, gynecological oncology, pediatric oncology, and brachytherapy services, and pioneered advanced radiotherapy techniques such as accelerated partial breast irradiation and image-guided cervical brachytherapy. He has contributed significantly to academic medicine as co-chair of the EuroAsia Breast Brachytherapy School, faculty member in pediatric radiation oncology training programs, and external examiner for the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has also served as Research Director, authored multiple publications, secured research grants, and received several research awards. He currently holds international leadership positions in radiation oncology organizations and continues to be actively involved in clinical practice, research, and education.
