Dr. Daniel Tan Yat Harn is a Senior Consultant and Director Radiation Oncologist at Asian Alliance Radiation & Oncology (AARO), Singapore. He has over 20 years of clinical experience in radiation oncology with a strong focus on advanced precision radiotherapy techniques for cancer treatment. His subspecialty expertise includes stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), which deliver highly targeted ablative radiation over 1–5 sessions for primary and metastatic tumours. \n\nDr. Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002 and worked at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) from 2003 to 2015, where he rose to Consultant. During his tenure, he co-chaired the Neuro-Oncology Cancer Service Line Development workgroup and played a key role in establishing stereotactic radiation programs in Southeast Asia, including spine, prostate, and liver SBRT services. \n\nHe received the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Awards for advanced training in clinical oncology and stereotactic techniques. His international training includes leading centres such as University of Pennsylvania (proton therapy), Princess Margaret Hospital and Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre (Canada), and Tokyo Metropolitan Komagome Hospital (Japan). He also holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from NUS Business School. \n\nIn 2015, Dr. Tan founded AARO with a vision to provide subspecialized, technology-driven cancer care aligned with leading international oncology centres. He has also collaborated with institutions such as MD Anderson Cancer Center and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center to support radiation oncology development in Asia. \n\nDr. Tan is actively involved in international oncology leadership and education, including serving on the Board of Directors of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS). He has published and presented extensively on neuro-oncology and stereotactic radiotherapy at major global conferences including ASTRO, ASCO, and ISRS. \n\nHis clinical focus includes brain and spine tumors, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and the application of advanced stereotactic radiation technologies.
