Dr. Whang Hwee Yong 黄慧容医生

Dr. Whang is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Icon Cancer Centre Farrer Park with extensive experience in oncology, particularly in breast cancer and metastatic disease. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology. She has also been an active member of the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society of Clinical Oncology since 1977. Dr. Whang previously served as an Internist and Associate Professor of Medicine at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States, one of the world’s leading cancer institutions. During her tenure, she was deeply involved in clinical research and served as Principal Investigator for multiple Phase I and II developmental therapeutics trials. Her research focused on the treatment of breast cancer, brain tumours, and central nervous system metastases. In recognition of her contributions to medicine, she was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 1984 and is also a member of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Dr. Whang has authored more than sixty publications in international peer-reviewed journals and is a frequently invited speaker at global medical conferences and seminars. Her clinical interests include breast cancer and metastatic disease involving the central nervous system and liver.
