Dr. Nurhashim Haron

Dr. Nurhashim is an expert in General Surgery (Colorectal Surgery) with special interest in minimally invasive surgery, particularly in treating colorectal disease. He graduated from the University of St. Andrews, UK with B.Sc. Medical Science, and completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester in 1999. He began his career as a houseman in Manchester, UK, then underwent surgical training in the Northwest region of the UK, obtaining MRCS (Edinburgh) in 2003. After seven years with the NHS in the UK, he returned to Malaysia to complete Higher Surgical Training at the University of Malaya, graduating with Masters of Surgery in 2009. He subsequently obtained Fellowship in Colorectal Surgery (Malaysia) and completed a 12-month Fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at the ICENI Centre, Colchester General Hospital, UK in 2015. He has been a visiting lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and is Vice President of the Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgeons.
