Dr. Akmal Hisham Miswan is a certified and credentialed Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon in Malaysia with expertise in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, before obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He later completed his Master of Surgery in Plastic Surgery at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Dr. Akmal was awarded the prestigious John D. Constable International Travelling Fellowship by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS), an honor granted annually to only one international plastic surgeon. Through this fellowship, he trained with leading aesthetic plastic surgeons across Atlanta, New York, and Newport Beach, California. He further refined his expertise by completing the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Istanbul, Turkey. His clinical interests include aesthetic eyelid surgery, facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, breast enhancement, high-definition liposuction, fat transfer procedures, body contouring surgery, burn reconstruction, facial trauma, skin cancer reconstruction, and chronic wound management. Dr. Akmal has also received multiple academic awards, including recognition at the London Breast Meeting and the International Burn & Wound Conference, and has contributed to scientific publications and textbook chapters in burn surgery.
