Dr. Ayesha Mohd Zain

Dr. Ayesha Mohd Zain is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Retinal Specialist with more than 15 years of clinical experience in managing complex eye diseases. She specializes in Medical Retina and Uveitis, with expertise in diagnosing and treating diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases, ocular inflammation, and complex intraocular infections. Dr. Ayesha obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and later completed her Doctor of Ophthalmology (Dr Ophth) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She further advanced her subspecialty expertise through Fellowship training in Medical Retina and Uveitis in Australia. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ayesha is actively involved in academia and research as a Clinical Lecturer at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM). Her research interests include diabetic macular edema, retinal imaging using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and ophthalmic manifestations of systemic diseases. She is committed to evidence-based ophthalmic care and advanced retinal diagnostics to help preserve and improve patients’ vision outcomes.
