Dr Poh Keng Soon is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. His primary interest is in shoulder and elbow conditions, ranging from sports injuries and trauma to degenerative conditions such as labral injuries, rotator cuff tears and osteoarthritis. Dr Poh specialises in minimally invasive keyhole (arthroscopic) and joint replacement (arthroplasty) surgeries, particularly of the shoulder and elbow joints, such as arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and reconstruction for recurrent shoulder dislocations. He performs a high volume of shoulder replacement surgeries for advanced arthritis, employing computer planning and 3D printed patient-specific instrumentations. Prior to joining private practice, he was a consultant in the department of orthopaedic surgery at the National University Hospital’s (NUH) division of shoulder and elbow and at the Joint Replacement and Reconstruction Centre at Alexandra Hospital. He is still a visiting consultant at NUH. He joined the postgraduate specialists’ training programme in orthopaedics surgery at NUH. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He received the Health Manpower Development Plan award to further pursue his training in Australia with a special focus in sports, shoulder and elbow surgery. Besides his clinical work, Dr Poh is an adjunct professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.

Ramesh Subramaniam

Dr Ramesh Subramaniam is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore. He subspecialises in arthroscopic sports surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip and elbow. He is also trained to perform knee, shoulder and elbow joint replacements. Dr Ramesh started the hip arthroscopy service at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). He is a visiting consultant at TTSH and Ng Teng Fong Hospital. He attained his bachelor's degrees from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed his master's degree in orthopaedic surgery in Singapore. He underwent advanced surgical training in orthopaedic surgery and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK in trauma and orthopaedics. Dr Ramesh was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award by the Ministry of Health to pursue subspecialty training in shoulder and knee surgery at the Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin, Ireland. He was then awarded the TTSH scholarship to pursue a sports fellowship in knee surgery at the Hospital Quirón Barcelona, Spain. As part of this training, Dr Ramesh spent time with the Mutualitat Catalana de Futbolistes' orthopaedic teams to care for the soccer players in Barcelona and the Spanish province of Catalunya. He also completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona and was trained in arthroscopic joint reconstruction and joint replacement surgeries. He was appointed clinical senior lecturer and then adjunct assistant professor at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is a faculty member of the National Healthcare Group's (NHG) residency programme and served as the chairman of NHG's hand surgery residency programme evaluation committee. As fellowship supervisor of sports surgery at TTSH, he has mentored clinical fellows from India, Philippines and Malaysia. Dr Ramesh has published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented his work at podium presentations in international conferences, and lectured and demonstrated surgery techniques at numerous international workshops and training courses for knee and shoulder surgery. He has volunteered with the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation to perform pro-bono surgery in Indonesia. He has been involved in Indosin Bhakti Sosial with the Singapore Navy to provide primary healthcare to villages in the Riau Islands, Indonesia. For his humanitarian relief work during the Yogyakarta earthquake in 2006, he was awarded the Ministry of Health award for humanitarian relief work.

Yik Jing Hui (Kevin)

Dr Kevin Yik is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. His subspecialty interests include shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, knee ligament and meniscus injuries, and musculoskeletal trauma. His expertise includes shoulder and elbow surgery, fracture fixation, arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, and joint replacements (arthroplasty). Dr Yik was the head and consultant in the division of orthopaedic trauma at both the National University Hospital (NUH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). He was also a consultant in the division of shoulder and elbow surgery in the department of orthopaedic surgery at NTFGH. He continues to be a visiting consultant at NUH and NTFGH. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and later became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He underwent fellowship training in Seoul for orthopaedic trauma and shoulder and elbow surgery. Aside from his clinical work, Dr Yik was involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He was appointed adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is also an active member of AO Trauma and a regional programme coordinator for upper extremity trauma in AO Trauma (Asia Pacific). He also serves on the AO Trauma Singapore Council as its community development officer. Dr Yik also taught and chaired multiple AO Trauma courses. He is published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented at local and overseas conferences.
