Dr Kevin Yik is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
His subspecialty interests include shoulder instability, rotator cuff tears, knee ligament and meniscus injuries, and musculoskeletal trauma. His expertise includes shoulder and elbow surgery, fracture fixation, arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, and joint replacements (arthroplasty).
Dr Yik was the head and consultant in the division of orthopaedic trauma at both the National University Hospital (NUH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). He was also a consultant in the division of shoulder and elbow surgery in the department of orthopaedic surgery at NTFGH. He continues to be a visiting consultant at NUH and NTFGH.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore and later became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He underwent fellowship training in Seoul for orthopaedic trauma and shoulder and elbow surgery.
Aside from his clinical work, Dr Yik was involved in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He was appointed adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is also an active member of AO Trauma and a regional programme coordinator for upper extremity trauma in AO Trauma (Asia Pacific). He also serves on the AO Trauma Singapore Council as its community development officer. Dr Yik also taught and chaired multiple AO Trauma courses.
He is published in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented at local and overseas conferences.
