Dr Ravi Seshadri is an ear, nose, throat (ENT) surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, and currently practises out of his clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He specialises in caring for patients with nasal allergy, snoring and throat and voice problems. He also sees a wide variety of paediatric patients with ear, nose and throat problems. Upon his graduation from the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Medicine (MBBS, 1984), Dr Seshadri went on to complete his ENT Advanced Specialty Training at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Following that, he left for the UK under the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Award. There, he underwent a 14-month fellowship programme in ENT at Charing Cross Hospital in London. Then in 1995, he underwent further training at the Pacific Voice & Speech Foundation in California, USA under the TTSH Scholarship Award. During the six-month programme there, he focused on Laryngology and Phonosurgery. In 1997, he was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Prior to his move to private practice, Dr Seshadri was a consultant at the Department of Otolaryngology at TTSH. Presently, he continues to run a Voice Clinic at the Hospital, where he not only sees patients but trains junior doctors as well. Dr Seshadri is highly respected in the medical community for his expertise. He is the surgeon who pioneered the use of botulinum toxin (Botox) for patients with spasmodic voice conditions in Singapore. He has also been an active member of the Singapore ORL Society since 1991 and served as the Secretary of the Society from 1996 to 1997. In addition, he is a member of the Voice Foundation which is based in Philadelphia, USA. Dr Seshadri has scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals locally as well as regionally, including the Asian Pacific Journal of Allergy and Immunology. He has also been an invited speaker at scientific meetings. He is married with three children.

Dr Mark Fernandes is a gastroenterologist practising in Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore. He has a clinical interest in liver disease and digestive cancer screening. Dr Fernandes’ main areas of clinical expertise include viral hepatitis (including hepatitis B and C), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, weight management, liver cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and Fibroscan. He is also an endoscopist and is experienced at therapeutic endoscopy including haemostasis in gastrointestinal bleeding, variceal branding, polypectomy, ligation of piles and feeding tube insertion (PEG). Prior to private practice, he was actively involved in the liver tumour ablative service and the liver transplantation programme at the National University Hospital, where he helped introduce the Fibroscan service to the hospital. He was previously on the committee for the National Foundation for Digestive Diseases. Dr Fernandes graduated from the University of Edinburg with a B.Sc (Hons) in 1997 and a MBChB (Hons) in 2000. He obtained his MRCP (UK) in 2003 and was accredited as a Specialist in Gastroenterology by the Ministry of Health and was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore) in 2007. He pursued his advanced fellowship in liver cancer and hepatitis B at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan, and furthered his exposure to liver transplantation medicine at King’s College Hospital, London.

Ong Eng Hui David

Dr David Ong is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. He is experienced in treating and managing conditions of the stomach, bowel and liver, and his subspecialty is in treating inflammatory bowel diseases (such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease) with a focus on colorectal cancer surveillance and gut microbiome. Dr Ong was the head of gastroenterology and hepatology at the National University Hospital (NUH) and remains as a visiting senior consultant. Whilst at NUH, he held the positions of divisional director of clinical services, director of risk and values at the NUH cluster, and associate chairman of the medical board (medicolegal risk). In addition, he has served as a member of the Singapore Medical Council Complaints Panel since 2016. Dr Ong helped set up the inflammatory bowel disease unit at NUH and has published widely in this area. He has also been a speaker at local and global conferences on the topic. In addition, he has served on multiple advisory boards of pharmaceutical companies, advising them on new treatments and advances in the field.

She was also the site director, core faculty and clinical competency committee member for the SingHealth gastroenterology senior residency programme.
