Dr. Reuben Wong

Dr. Reuben Wong is a Gastroenterologist with subspecialty expertise in functional gastrointestinal disorders, including reflux and swallowing disorders, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gut microbiota, chronic constipation and diarrhea, and colon cancer screening. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 1998 and served in the public healthcare sector for 18 years. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, and among the few gastroenterologists in Asia to be conferred Fellowship by the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Wong was awarded a Ministry of Health scholarship to pursue advanced subspecialty training at the University of North Carolina Centre for Functional Gastrointestinal and Motility Disorders. Upon returning to Singapore, he established and led the Functional Gastroenterology service and served as Senior Consultant and Clinical Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Laboratory, where he introduced advanced motility and reflux diagnostic testing. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore and Visiting Consultant at the National University Hospital. A strong advocate of patient education, he regularly shares insights on gut health through media and was previously President of the IBS Support Group (Singapore).
