Dr. Yim Heng Boon is a senior consultant gastroenterologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience in gastroenterology and advanced interventional endoscopy. After graduating from the National University of Singapore in 1990, he completed postgraduate training in Internal Medicine before pursuing advanced endoscopic training through the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP). His subspecialty expertise includes advanced therapeutic endoscopy and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures for gastrointestinal diseases. He received advanced endoscopy training at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA, followed by specialized training in endoscopic surgery for early gastric cancer at the National Cancer Center, Tokyo, Japan. Prior to joining private practice, Dr. Yim served as Senior Consultant and Deputy Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he also led the Endoscopy Centre. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yim is deeply involved in medical education and research. He serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore and has held visiting academic appointments in Indonesia and Vietnam. He then completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the Mersey School of Endoscopy with the focus on endoscopic therapy in pancreaticobiliary diseases, cancer diagnosis and therapy. During this time, he was awarded the British Society of Gastroenterology award to visit the Medical University of South Carolina, USA. At NUH, he was also the lead ERCP operator for post liver transplant complex biliary strictures, leaks and bile duct stones. Dr Doshi was regularly involved with the pancreatobiliary tumour board and liver transplant meetings and was also the founding member of the original pancreas clinic at NUH.
