Dr. Johann Tang is a Radiation Oncologist at Farrer Park Hospital and Assistant Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Newcastle, Australia in 1998 and completed his house officer training at Hunter Area Health Service, Australia. He returned to Singapore for specialist training in Radiation Oncology at the National University Hospital (NUH). He obtained his specialist fellowship from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists in Radiation Oncology, 2006). Dr. Tang further advanced his expertise through multiple international fellowships including breast brachytherapy at the University of Wisconsin, prostate brachytherapy and pediatric radiation oncology training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute, Australia, as well as training at Arizona Breast Cancer Specialist Centre. He served at NUH for 18 years, where he held leadership roles across breast, gynecological oncology, pediatric oncology, and brachytherapy services, and pioneered advanced radiotherapy techniques such as accelerated partial breast irradiation and image-guided cervical brachytherapy. He has contributed significantly to academic medicine as co-chair of the EuroAsia Breast Brachytherapy School, faculty member in pediatric radiation oncology training programs, and external examiner for the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has also served as Research Director, authored multiple publications, secured research grants, and received several research awards.
