Dr. Yip Hwee Seng

Dr. Yip Hwee Seng is a Respiratory Physician and Intensivist with expertise in both respiratory and critical care medicine. He has a strong clinical focus on asthma, community-acquired pneumonia, lung cancer diagnosis, and advanced bronchoscopic procedures. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2001 and completed his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine at the National University Hospital (NUH) in 2010. He further specialized in Intensive Care Medicine, completing his training in 2012. That same year, he was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award (Individual) by NUH, which enabled him to pursue advanced intensive care training at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where he served as an honorary fellow in the Intensive Care Unit. Prior to private practice, Dr. Yip was a Senior Consultant Respiratory Physician and Intensivist at NUH and served as Clinical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit from 2013 to 2019. During this time, he led multiple quality improvement initiatives, including early mobilization programs that improved patient recovery outcomes after critical illness. Dr. Yip is actively involved in medical education and has contributed to the training of medical students and residents at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the National University Health System. He continues to serve on the Subspecialty Training Committee in Intensive Care Medicine.
