Dr. Wong Ru Xin

Dr. Wong Ru Xin is a Radiation Oncologist with extensive experience in advanced cancer treatment techniques and over a decade of clinical practice. She graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2009 on the Dean’s List and began her residency training at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS). She obtained her Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) in 2010 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in Clinical Oncology in 2016. Dr. Wong worked at NCCS for more than 10 years, where she gained comprehensive experience in managing a wide range of cancers. She was awarded the Ministry of Health Manpower Development Programme to undergo further training in proton therapy in the United States, enhancing her expertise in cutting-edge radiation techniques. Her clinical skills include the use of advanced radiotherapy modalities such as electron therapy, 3D conformal radiotherapy, image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and proton beam therapy. Dr. Wong remains active in public healthcare as a visiting consultant at NCCS and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She is also involved in education, teaching oncology nurses at Nanyang Polytechnic, and contributes to research as a member of the SingHealth Oncology Institutional Review Board. She has received research grants and is involved in international collaborations such as the Asian Neuro Germ Cell Consortium and the Chordoma Foundation.
