Dr. Timothy Lim

Dr. Timothy Lim Yong Kuei is a senior specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology with subspecialty expertise in gynecological oncology. He is highly experienced in the management of gynecological cancers and is a pioneer in minimally invasive gynecological oncology surgery in Singapore. He played a key role in establishing minimally invasive surgical techniques as a standard of care at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), as well as introducing ICG-NIR sentinel lymph node biopsy for endometrial cancer in 2016. He is also skilled in fertility-sparing cancer surgery and has performed numerous abdominal radical trachelectomy procedures for early cervical cancer. Dr. Lim previously served as Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Gynecological Oncology at KKH and Deputy Chairman of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has also held academic appointments as Adjunct Associate Professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK). He further pursued advanced fellowship training and was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme to train in France. In addition, he holds a Master of Laws in Medical Law and Ethics from the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Lim is an active clinical researcher with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and has received multiple teaching awards. He is also deeply involved in professional societies, public health education, and cancer awareness initiatives in Singapore.
