Dr. Tay Kai Hong is the Founder and Medical Director of Private Space Medical, and a psychiatrist with over 17 years of clinical experience. He manages a wide range of psychological conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, insomnia, and developmental conditions such as autism and intellectual disability. Dr. Tay graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore and went on to obtain his specialist qualification as a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (United Kingdom). During his National Service, he led the Psychological Medicine Inpatient Centre at the SAF Psychological Care Centre, where he assessed and managed mental health conditions among servicemen. In public service, Dr. Tay played a key role in developing resilience programs and promoting mental wellness. He served as Director of Mental Resilience and was part of the SingHealth Mental Wellness Steering Committee. He is also recognized for his expertise in sleep medicine, having authored insomnia treatment guidelines and led the development of sleep medicine services in psychiatry. Dr. Tay is actively involved in research and education, with publications in areas such as insomnia, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and neurostimulation. He has presented at local and international conferences and established brain stimulation facilities for severe mood disorders. As Site Director of the National Psychiatry Residency Program, he contributed significantly to specialist training and curriculum development. A passionate educator, Dr. Tay serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and has received multiple teaching and service excellence awards. He is committed to delivering holistic, evidence-based, and patient-centered psychological care.
