Dr. Stanley Chia

Dr. Stanley Chia is an accomplished Interventional Cardiologist with extensive expertise in managing complex coronary artery disease and advanced cardiovascular conditions. He is particularly skilled in high-risk coronary interventions, including treatment of left main coronary artery disease, chronic total occlusions, and heavily calcified coronary lesions. Recognised for his precision and technical expertise, Dr. Chia has built a strong reputation in complex interventional cardiology both locally and internationally. His academic career began with the prestigious British Heart Foundation Scholarship Scheme and a Junior Research Fellowship, which supported his doctoral studies in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Edinburgh from 2000 to 2002. He subsequently completed advanced specialty training in cardiology at the National Heart Centre Singapore and became a certified cardiology specialist in 2006. Dr. Chia further refined his interventional expertise through fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston and served as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Prior to entering private practice, he was Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist at the National Heart Centre Singapore, while also serving as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Cardiology Residency Programme. Beyond clinical work, Dr. Chia contributes actively to research, medical ethics governance, and medical education. His research interests include intravascular imaging techniques such as optical coherence tomography, and he has published extensively in leading international peer-reviewed journals. He is also a frequent speaker and faculty member at regional and international cardiology conferences.
