Dr. Soo Ing Xiang

Dr. Soo Ing Xiang is a Senior Consultant Thoracic Surgeon with O2 Lung Centre, specialising in thoracic surgical oncology and minimally invasive thoracic surgery. Before entering private practice, he was a founding member and Surgical Chief at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Lung Centre located at Singapore General Hospital’s Outram campus. He also previously worked at the National Heart Centre Singapore, where he continues to contribute as a Visiting Consultant and Assistant Professor. Dr. Soo obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the National University of Singapore. He later earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and underwent advanced thoracic surgery training at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in the United Kingdom. Dr. Soo has a strong interest in lung preservation surgery and is regarded as one of Singapore’s most experienced surgeons in navigational bronchoscopic lung resections. He is also highly experienced in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols and performed Singapore’s and the region’s first Non-intubated Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) lobectomy. His clinical expertise includes surgical oncology for lung and thymic cancers, VATS biopsy and lung-preserving resections using navigation bronchoscopy, subxiphoid thymectomy, chest wall surgery, pneumothorax surgery, and uniportal VATS sympathectomy. Dr. Soo remains actively involved in thoracic surgical innovation, academic teaching, and advancing minimally invasive thoracic surgical techniques in Singapore.
