Dr. Ruth Kam 甘敏丽医生

Dr. Ruth Kam is a Cardiologist with extensive expertise in cardiac electrophysiology, pacing, preventive cardiology, and sports cardiology. She began her medical career at the National Heart Centre Singapore, where she last served as Senior Consultant in 2004. Dr. Kam obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1986 and was a President’s Scholar from 1981 to 1985. She completed her Internal Medicine training and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 1990 and Master of Internal Medicine (Singapore) in 1991. She subsequently completed specialist cardiology training at Singapore General Hospital between 1991 and 1994. Dr. Kam further advanced her subspecialty expertise through scholarships and fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University in the United States, focusing on Cardiac Electrophysiology, Catheter Ablation, Cardiac Pacemaker and Defibrillator Implantation. In 1997, she passed the Special Competency Examination in Cardiac Pacing and Defibrillation by the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE). She became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore in 1998 and obtained Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2000. Dr. Kam continues to contribute actively to medical education and training across Singapore public hospitals and is involved in sports cardiology initiatives, device implantation training, and regional electrophysiology education. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences.
