Dr. Ruben Manohara

Dr. Ruben Manohara is a fellowship-trained Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in shoulder and elbow surgery, sports injuries, and trauma management. Prior to joining Shoulder | Elbow Orthopaedic Clinic, he served in Singapore’s public healthcare sector for 16 years, including consultant roles within the National University Health System (NUHS) Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. During his tenure at NUHS, he worked in both the Shoulder and Elbow Division and the Musculoskeletal Trauma Division, gaining extensive experience in upper limb arthroscopic surgery, sports injuries, simple and complex fractures, and shoulder and elbow joint replacement surgery in primary, revision, and trauma settings. He was also part of the NUHS hip fracture team that received the Ministry of Health Value-Driven Outcomes Excellence Award in 2019. Dr. Manohara is actively involved in teaching and academia as an Assistant Professor with the National University of Singapore Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, where he teaches and assesses medical students and orthopedic residents. He is an active member of AO Trauma and the Singapore Shoulder and Elbow Society and regularly lectures and conducts surgical courses throughout the Asia Pacific region. Dr. Manohara graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2004 and completed advanced orthopaedic training in Singapore before pursuing a clinical fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He remains actively engaged in research, publications, and orthopedic education while promoting active lifestyles and patient-centered care.
