Dr. Roy Koh Kiok Ming

Dr. Roy Koh Kiok Ming is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with extensive expertise in minimally invasive spine surgery and complex neurosurgical conditions. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2000 and completed his basic surgical training in 2004. He subsequently obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Master of Medicine (Surgery) in 2006, before entering advanced neurosurgical training in 2008. In 2010, Dr. Koh undertook a fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge under Professor John Pickard, where he trained with leading spinal surgeon Mr. Rodney Laing. After attaining his Fellowship in Neurosurgery (FRCSEd Neurosurgery), he returned to Singapore and served as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he played a key role in establishing the combined spine service as its first neurosurgical spine consultant. Dr. Koh has broad expertise in managing spinal disorders, including tumors, degenerative conditions, and trauma, and is known for pioneering Singapore’s first minimally invasive spinal tumor removal. His surgical repertoire includes procedures ranging from discectomies and laminectomies to spinal fusion, disc replacement, scoliosis correction, and tumor surgery. In addition, he is trained in neuro-oncology and neurovascular surgery, performing procedures such as aneurysm clipping, brain tumor excision, stroke revascularization, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery.
