Dr. Roland Chong Weng Wah 莊荣华医生

Dr. Chong Wen Wah Roland is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a primary focus on shoulder and elbow conditions. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Changi General Hospital, where he specialized in shoulder and elbow surgery. His clinical expertise includes arthroscopic shoulder procedures, management of irreparable rotator cuff tears using periscapular tendon transfers, and joint replacement solutions for shoulder and elbow conditions. He also manages trauma, rheumatic arthritis, and degenerative conditions with advanced surgical options such as bipolar radial head replacements, total elbow replacements, shoulder replacements, and reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Dr. Chong obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2001, graduating on the Dean’s List and receiving the Yeoh Khuan Joo Gold Medal in Surgery. He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2006 and completed his Master of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007. He further underwent advanced specialty training and was awarded the SingHealth Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Scholarship in 2011 to pursue fellowship training in Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgery at Royal Perth Hospital, Australia. Dr. Chong is actively involved in research, with numerous publications and conference presentations. He has received awards such as the N Balachandran Memorial Lecture Award and Reviewer Recognition Award. He also contributes to medical education as a Clinical Lecturer and faculty member in orthopedic residency programs.
