Dr. Niall Crosby

Dr. Niall Crosby is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with extensive international experience across 15 eye departments on three continents. He specialises in cataract surgery, vitreoretinal diseases, retinal and macular disorders, uveitis, and comprehensive ophthalmology. Prior to private practice, he served as Associate Consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre, where he was the only full-time fellowship-trained retinal specialist for over two years. During this time, he managed emergency retinal cases and trained other consultants in retinal surgery. Before relocating to Singapore, he worked as a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service. Dr. Crosby graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Hons) in Neuroscience in 1999 and completed his MBBS in 2002. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London) in 2011. His ophthalmology training spanned nine years in the UK, including advanced fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery at Royal Hallamshire Hospital (Sheffield) and the University of Auckland, followed by a fellowship in medical retina and uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Dr. Crosby has contributed extensively to research in retinal imaging, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment surgery, and endophthalmitis, and has collaborated with institutions such as the Birmingham Institute for Glaucoma Research. He is also an author, co-writing Foundations of Intraocular Microsurgery: Principles for Elite Performance. He actively teaches, mentors surgeons, and has participated in international outreach programs including ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital. He has received multiple awards, including a Merit Award from the National University Health System.
