Dr. Ng Zhi Xu

Dr. Ng Zhi Xu is a Specialist Neurosurgeon with subspecialty interests in neuro-oncology, neurotrauma, and spine surgery. He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2007 and completed his early medical training at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, as well as serving as a Medical Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces. He began his neurosurgical training in 2011, based at the National University Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he developed a strong focus in neurotrauma, neuro-oncology, and spinal surgery. He obtained his postgraduate qualification in Neurosurgery in 2016 and completed his residency in 2017. Dr. Ng further advanced his training through a one-year neurosurgery fellowship at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, United Kingdom, with a focus on spine surgery and neuro-oncology. Prior to joining FeM Surgery, he worked at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he provided comprehensive neurosurgical care and was actively involved in teaching and residency training. He served as site director for residency teaching, chief organizer of GP and nursing educational forums, and contributed to exam preparation courses for neurosurgical trainees. He has ongoing research collaborations with National University Hospital, including work on stem cell-based therapies for resistant brain cancers. Dr. Ng has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in neurosurgery and spine surgery, covering topics such as neurotrauma, spinal tumors, aneurysm management, and glioblastoma research. He is also actively involved in community service and sports, including medical outreach work in Cambodia and coaching judo.
