Dr. Melvin Look 陆志明医生

Dr. Melvin Look is a Consultant General Surgeon and Medical Director of Surgi-TEN Specialists at Farrer Park Hospital. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore and obtained Fellowship in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr. Look underwent advanced international training in upper gastrointestinal cancer surgery at the National Cancer Center Hospital in Tokyo under a Ministry of Health Fellowship. He also worked as an Honorary Consultant in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. In addition, he received a Tan Tock Seng Hospital Scholarship for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Centre in New York and an International Cancer Fellowship from the Union Internationale Contre le Cancer (UICC) for peritoneal cancer treatment at the Washington Cancer Institute. Dr. Look has extensive expertise in gastrointestinal surgery, therapeutic endoscopy including ERCP, and advanced laparoscopic procedures. His key clinical focus includes esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, and abdominal cancers, with special expertise in radical resections and peritonectomy procedures. He is also recognised as a pioneer in advanced minimally invasive surgery in Southeast Asia, having performed several first-in-region laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Look is actively involved in surgical education and has served as a Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and currently as a Clinical Teacher at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. He has also contributed to regional training and international surgical conferences, including establishing a laparoscopic training centre endorsed by SAGES.
