Dr. Mathew Cheng 程恒望医生

Dr. Cheng is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive expertise in musculoskeletal oncology, specializing in limb salvage surgery and complex tumor reconstruction for both children and adults. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992 and completed his internship in 1993, followed by military service as a Medical Officer in the Singapore Armed Forces Commandos. He went on to complete his general surgical and orthopaedic training, finishing his residency in 2000. Dr. Cheng further advanced his subspecialty expertise at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he trained in orthopaedic oncology from 2001 to 2002. He also received additional training in microsurgery and hand surgery at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taipei in 2003. Dr. Cheng is widely recognized for his work in limb salvage operations for malignant tumors and is considered a leading surgeon in Singapore for tumor prosthesis, allograft and autograft reimplantation, as well as microvascular and nerve repairs. He is also a pioneer in Asia for advanced techniques such as Van Nes rotationplasty and cryosurgery ablation for limb sarcomas. Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Cheng has contributed his expertise in challenging environments, including war zones, providing surgical care for patients with severe limb conditions.
