Dr. Lim Kay Kiat

Dr. Lim Kay Kiat is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in foot and ankle surgery, as well as a strong focus on sports-related injuries, particularly those associated with running and cycling. He is known for his holistic approach, incorporating not only surgical and rehabilitative care but also preventive strategies such as bike fitting to address and prevent overuse injuries. His patient base includes elite athletes such as national soccer players, dancers, and competitive sports professionals. Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Lim served as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of the Foot and Ankle Service at Changi General Hospital, where he pioneered the use of maggot debridement therapy for diabetic foot ulcers. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1996 and went on to complete postgraduate surgical training, becoming a Member and later Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery. He further specialized through a Foot and Ankle Fellowship at the University of Toronto and subspecialty training at St. Michael’s Hospital in Canada. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Lim is actively involved in research, education, and mentorship, contributing to orthopedic literature and training future surgeons. He also plays an active role in sports medicine and event medical support.
