Dr. Lee Haw Chou

Dr. Lee Haw Chou is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1993 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and went on to complete his surgical training, obtaining his Fellowship in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998. He further specialised in orthopaedics through the Singapore Orthopaedic Training Programme, completing his FRCSEd (Orthopaedics) in 2003. Dr. Lee subsequently pursued subspecialty training in spinal surgery through multiple fellowships across Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, England, and a 12-month advanced training stint at the University of Missouri in the United States. Prior to entering private practice in 2012, Dr. Lee served as Senior Consultant and Chief of Spine Service at Changi General Hospital, where he established the Spine Service and led multidisciplinary patient care programmes. He has a strong interest in healthcare quality improvement and has received multiple grants from the Ministry of Health’s Healthcare Quality Improvement Fund. His contributions include hospital-wide initiatives in infection control, thromboprophylaxis, and orthogeriatric care. Dr. Lee has also been actively involved in clinical research, contributing to peer-reviewed journals and serving as a Principal Investigator in National Medical Research Council projects. In addition, he is dedicated to medical education, serving as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and mentor in orthopaedic residency programmes.
