Dr. Karen Yap 叶平玲医生

Dr. Karen Yap is a consultant breast and general surgeon with extensive experience in breast surgery and cancer care. She has been in private practice since 2005 and was previously with the National Cancer Centre Singapore. Dr. Yap specializes in breast surgery, including mammotome biopsy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and oncoplastic techniques, combining cancer treatment with cosmetic outcomes. She graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1994 and completed her general surgery training in Singapore. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh as well as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr. Yap further enhanced her expertise through a breast fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute, Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto. She obtained her specialist accreditation in General Surgery in 2002 and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. In addition to her clinical practice, she has contributed to research with numerous publications in international journals and earned a Master of Science from the National University of Singapore for her research in breast cancer. Known for her empathetic approach, Dr. Yap is dedicated to providing personalized care, understanding the physical and emotional impact of breast conditions on her patients.
