Dr. Joy Chan 陈文敏医生

Dr. Joy Chan is Medical Director and Senior Consultant at the International Eye Cataract Retina Centre in Singapore. She is an experienced ophthalmologist with a special focus on cataract and oculoplastic surgery. Dr. Chan graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2004 and was awarded the Gold Medal and Book Prize in Ophthalmology. She obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008 and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2011. She completed her basic and advanced specialty training at the Singapore National Eye Centre, followed by fellowship training in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the National University Hospital. She was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award in 2013. Dr. Chan previously served as a Consultant at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Jurong Medical Centre, and the National University Hospital, where she led oculoplastic services and managed a wide range of complex conditions. She is highly skilled in cataract surgery, including advanced techniques such as femtosecond laser-assisted surgery and toric intraocular lens implantation. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chan is actively involved in teaching and research, having served as a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and contributed to postgraduate surgical training. She has published extensively and presented at local and international conferences on oculoplastic surgery and ophthalmology.
