Dr. John Chia Whay Kuang 谢惠光医生

Dr. John Chia graduated with double distinctions in Medicine and Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 1999. He obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2002. Early in his career, he was actively involved in the emerging field of immunotherapy for solid cancers and contributed to the leadership and development of multiple immunotherapy clinical trials in Singapore. Following his Oncology Board certifications in 2008 and 2009, he pursued advanced fellowship training in immunotherapy for solid tumors, including dendritic cancer vaccines, adoptive T-cell therapy, and immune biomarker monitoring. He later completed a second fellowship in advanced management of gynecological cancers at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London. Dr. Chia is highly active in clinical research, having developed numerous protocols and trials focusing on ovarian, cervical, colorectal, nasopharyngeal, and breast cancers. He has published extensively in leading international journals and has secured significant research funding exceeding 10 million dollars. He is a former Chief of the Gynaecology Oncology service at the National Cancer Centre Singapore and previously served as Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke-NUS. He continues to contribute to clinical guidelines and is actively involved in medical boards and ethics committees.
