Dr. Edgar Tay 郑立纬医生

Dr. Edgar Tay is a Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist with extensive expertise in structural heart disease and transcatheter cardiac interventions. He previously served as Senior Consultant and Director of the Structural Heart Disease Programme at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS), where he established major programs including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), MitraClip mitral valve repair, percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation, and balloon pulmonary angioplasty for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr. Tay graduated with MBBS from the National University of Singapore and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom). He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Cardiology at NUHCS and was awarded a Ministry of Health scholarship for advanced subspecialty training in structural heart disease. He trained at Royal Brompton Hospital in London in adult congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension, and later at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver focusing on transcatheter valve therapies, including TAVI. He has played a key role in developing structural heart programs in Singapore and has contributed significantly to interventional cardiology advancement in the region. He has held leadership roles in cardiology education, including Associate Programme Director for the Cardiology Senior Residency Programme and membership in national cardiology advisory committees. He has also served in hospital leadership and patient safety initiatives and has been actively involved in regional and international teaching, training, and proctoring in structural heart interventions.
