Dr. Dinesh Sirisena

Dr. Dinesh Sirisena is a Consultant in Sports, Musculoskeletal and Exercise Medicine based in Singapore. He graduated from Bart’s and The London Medical School in 2004 and completed his specialist training in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2014. He has extensive experience working with elite sports teams across the United Kingdom and Singapore, with a strong focus on athlete care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance optimization. He currently serves as club doctor for Lion City Sailors and Tampines Rovers Football Clubs and has supported major international sporting events including the SEA Games 2017, Asian Games 2018, HSBC Sevens, Asia Oceanic Junior and Masters Frisbee, and the WTA Finals. He has also worked with the Singapore Rugby Union and other professional sporting organisations. Clinically, Dr. Dinesh specializes in non-invasive and ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal interventions including spinal injections, hydrodilatation, tendon stripping, PRP, prolotherapy, and high-volume injections. He is also experienced in TENEX and shockwave therapy for chronic tendon and soft tissue injuries. Previously, he served as Local Medical Director for Buckinghamshire Musculoskeletal Service, overseeing ultrasound-guided procedures, clinical supervision, and service development. In Singapore, he previously worked as a Sports Medicine Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, providing musculoskeletal care, rehabilitation, and education. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Dinesh is actively involved in research and education, with over 25 peer-reviewed publications. He has served as an assistant professor at both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and regularly contributes to teaching and international conferences.
