Dr. David Bell

Dr. David Bell is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in musculoskeletal trauma, deformity correction, and degenerative conditions of the hip and knee, with a strong focus on joint reconstruction and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and obtained his surgical fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2001. He later earned the Master of Medicine in Orthopaedics from the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2002 and completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Orthopaedic Surgery, achieving FRCS (Orth) in 2006. \n\nHe was awarded the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) scholarship, under which he trained at Charité University Hospital in Berlin, Germany, focusing on adult reconstruction (hip and knee arthroplasty) and complex musculoskeletal trauma. During his training abroad, he also provided sports medical support for the German women’s hockey team. \n\nPrior to entering private practice, Dr. Bell served as Consultant and Director of the Orthopaedic Trauma Service at Changi General Hospital (CGH), and was also a Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He continues to serve as a Visiting Consultant at CGH, contributing expertise in complex trauma management and joint reconstruction surgery. \n\nDr. Bell is actively involved in orthopaedic education and has received the Orthopaedic Teaching Excellence Award. He has also served as Chairman and instructor for multiple international and regional instructional surgical courses. \n\nHis clinical expertise includes arthroscopy, cartilage repair, computer-guided surgery, total hip and knee replacement, and trauma surgery, with an emphasis on restoring function and mobility through evidence-based orthopaedic care.
