Dr. Daniel Lee Jin Keat is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with extensive expertise in colorectal cancer surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and advanced endoscopic procedures. He graduated from the University of Putra Malaysia in 2004 and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009. He completed his Advanced Specialist Training in 2015, obtaining Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He further pursued advanced fellowships in colorectal surgery at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds, focusing on complex rectal cancer, and in surgical trauma care at the Royal London Hospital. \n\nSince 2017, Dr. Lee has been serving as a Consultant Surgeon at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he specializes in colorectal surgery with a focus on complex rectal cancer management, exenterative surgery, and minimally invasive approaches. He is highly skilled in advanced endoscopic and transanal techniques including transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS), endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), video-assisted anal fistula treatment (VAAFT), and colonic stenting. He has also developed expertise in geriatric surgery, improving perioperative care pathways for elderly and high-risk surgical patients. \n\nHe previously served as Head of Colorectal Surgery and Surgical Lead for the Geriatric Surgical Service at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he played a key role in optimizing surgical outcomes through prehabilitation programs, frailty screening, and enhanced recovery protocols. His contributions to patient care have been recognized with the Yishun Health Service Champion Award (twice). \n\nDr. Lee is actively involved in clinical research with multiple peer-reviewed publications on rectal cancer, surgical innovation, frailty, and perioperative care. He has received several awards including the NHG Recognition Team Award and Quality Improvement Awards, and has presented at international conferences such as the International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG). \n\nIn academia, he serves as an Adjunct Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and has been a core faculty member of the NHG Surgical Residency Programme, contributing to surgical education and training.
