Dr. Chuah Sai Wei 蔡赛薇医生

Dr. Chuah Sai Wei is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with extensive experience in managing a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver disorders, with a subspecialty focus on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) with commendation from the University of Glasgow, UK in 2002. She completed specialist training in Internal Medicine and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP UK) in 2005, followed by specialist accreditation in Gastroenterology & Hepatology. She further advanced her expertise through fellowship training in IBD at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospital Trust, UK. \n\nPreviously, Dr. Chuah served as Consultant in the Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). She has also been a Visiting Consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and continues her Visiting Consultant role at SGH. Her clinical expertise includes the management of complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions, with a strong focus on inflammatory bowel disease care. She routinely performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy. \n\nIn addition to clinical practice, Dr. Chuah has been actively involved in service development, education, and research. She has held leadership roles including Co-chair of the Centre for Digestive and Liver Diseases (CDLD) Executive Committee and participation in SingHealth transition care initiatives. She has contributed to clinical research with multiple grant awards and serves as core faculty in gastroenterology training programs. She is also an invited speaker at regional and international medical conferences and currently serves as Vice Chairperson of the National Foundation of Digestive Disease, Singapore.
