Dr. Choo Bok Ai 朱博爱医生

Dr. Choo Bok Ai is a Senior Radiation Oncologist with extensive experience in cancer care and advanced radiation therapy techniques. He practices at Icon SOC Clinic, Farrer Park Medical Centre. He graduated from the University of Aberdeen, UK in 1998 and completed his postgraduate internal medicine training with the Royal College of Physicians, London in 2002. He subsequently completed specialist clinical oncology training in Birmingham, UK in 2007 and is a Fellow of the UK Royal College of Radiologists. He became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore in 2013 and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Chapter of Radiation Oncology. \n\nDr. Choo previously held academic and clinical roles at the National University Hospital (NUH), where he was instrumental in advancing radiation oncology services, including the establishment of the first MRI-based cervical interstitial and intracavitary brachytherapy program. He also served as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore from 2011 to 2018. \n\nHis clinical expertise spans breast, gynecological, head and neck, skin, and sarcoma cancers. He is highly experienced in modern radiation techniques including IMRT, IGRT, VMAT, RapidArc, SBRT, and SRS. He has led and participated in multiple clinical and translational trials in cervical cancer, serving as principal investigator and co-investigator in several studies supported by national research grants. \n\nBeyond clinical practice, Dr. Choo is actively involved in academic teaching, regional postgraduate courses, and cancer advocacy work. He founded and advised multiple patient support groups, including the NCIS Nasopharyngeal Cancer Patient Support Group and the Singapore Sarcoma Support Group. His contributions to patient care and advocacy have been recognized with the Singapore Patient Advocate Award (2016) and the Healthcare Humanity Award (2018). He has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at international oncology conferences.
