Dr. Chew Yoon Chong Winston 周永昌医生

Dr. Chew Yoon Chong Winston is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon with a special interest in hand and microsurgery. He is one of only two surgeons to have attained dual specialisation in Orthopaedic Surgery and Hand Surgery. His clinical expertise covers complex upper limb conditions including distal radius and hand fractures, wrist disorders, arthroscopy of the wrist and small joints, and reconstruction of rheumatoid and degenerative hand deformities. He also performs total joint replacement procedures for the wrist and fingers. He is highly experienced in microsurgical reconstruction of both upper and lower limbs, including replantation, vascularised free flaps, and toe-to-hand transfers. His work focuses on restoring function in complex trauma and deformity cases through advanced reconstructive techniques. Dr. Chew previously served as Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 2008 to 2011 and was instrumental in establishing the Hand and Microsurgery Section, which he led until 2012. He has held leadership roles in professional societies, including serving as President of the Singapore Society for Hand Surgery. He graduated from the National University of Singapore and was awarded the Ministry of Health Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) scholarship to train in Hand and Microsurgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery / Kleinert-Kutz Hand Care Center in the United States. In addition to clinical practice, he has contributed to academic research with multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in hand surgery.
