Dr. Calvin Ong Jianming is a Senior Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with extensive experience in colorectal and general surgery. He spent 15 years at Changi General Hospital before transitioning to private practice. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and went on to complete his Master of Medicine (Surgery). He completed his advanced specialist training in 2016 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. As part of his subspecialty training, Dr. Ong spent a year at the internationally renowned St Mark’s Hospital in the United Kingdom, focusing on inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor disorders. He has a strong clinical focus on minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery for both cancerous and benign conditions. Dr. Ong is also actively involved in academia and teaching. He has been a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine since 2012 and holds the title of Adjunct Associate Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School. He is an active member of the Singapore Colorectal Society and has served on its executive committee.
