Dr. Asok Kurup

Dr. Asok Kurup is an Infectious Diseases specialist with a strong focus on HIV medicine. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1992 and obtained his Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine as well as Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 1997. He later achieved specialist accreditation in Infectious Diseases in Singapore in 2001 and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2005. Dr. Kurup further advanced his expertise through clinical and research fellowship training at the University of California, San Diego. Prior to private practice, he was a Senior Consultant at the Department of Infectious Diseases at Singapore General Hospital and held academic appointments as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. He has contributed extensively to research, with over 85 scientific publications and abstracts, and is a regular reviewer for scientific journals. He has also been actively involved in managing major infectious disease outbreaks, including H1N1, Nipah virus, and SARS. In addition, he participates in community outreach and international medical missions, demonstrating a commitment to public health and patient care.
