Dr. Ashwin Chee

Dr. Ashwin Chee is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 22 years of experience in psychological medicine. He graduated from Penang Medical College (now RUMC) and completed his specialist training in Singapore, obtaining a Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) from the National University of Singapore. From 2004 to 2020, he worked in major public healthcare institutions including National University Hospital, Institute of Mental Health, and Singapore General Hospital. He played a key role in establishing the psychiatry department at Sengkang General Hospital, where he also served as a Senior Consultant and led multidisciplinary team meetings overseeing patient care. Dr. Chee was actively involved in community mental health as the Psychiatry Lead for the northeastern region under Singapore’s LINK Program, supporting the transition of patients back into community-based care and training family physicians in mental health management. He is passionate about education and has served as a clinical tutor at NUS and Duke-NUS Medical School. His clinical interests include first-episode psychosis, depression, and anxiety disorders, and he has extensive experience working with youth through the Early Psychosis Intervention Program.
