Dr. Ang Peng Chye is a Consultant Psychiatrist at The Psychiatric and Behavioural Medicine Clinic and Founder as well as Behavioral Science Consultant at the Centre for Effective Living. His professional interests include psychogeriatrics, psychosomatic medicine, and stress research. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Singapore in 1978. Following his national service, he pursued psychiatric training at the Royal Free Hospital in the United Kingdom and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1985. Dr. Ang began his academic career as a lecturer at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Psychological Medicine before transitioning into private practice in 1987. In addition to clinical work, he has served as a consultant to numerous corporations and institutions, advising on stress management, organizational transitions, and cross-cultural effectiveness. He is also actively involved in community service and currently serves as the President of the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, contributing to advocacy and awareness efforts in mental health and aging.
