Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy

Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy is a board-accredited Orthopaedic Specialist Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in complex foot and ankle conditions, including sports injuries and lower limb trauma. He is Swiss-fellowship-trained and highly experienced in minimally invasive surgical techniques for foot and ankle disorders. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2003 and pursued postgraduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery, obtaining his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was recognized early in his career with the Best Houseman Award and later received the N. Balachandran Memorial Lectureship Award during his residency. In 2016, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Award, enabling him to undergo advanced fellowship training in Switzerland under internationally renowned surgeons at Kantonsspital Baselland and Inselspital, University Hospital of Bern. He further refined his expertise in minimally invasive surgery in Zurich. Dr. Ananda has held consultant positions at Singapore General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital. He has performed pioneering procedures, including the first lateral total ankle replacement in Southeast Asia. He is also actively involved in teaching medical students and orthopaedic trainees and regularly participates in international conferences.
