Dr. Akmal Hisham Miswan

Dr Akmal is a certified and credentialed aesthetic plastic surgeon in Malaysia. He graduated from the University of Manchester, UK and subsequently obtained the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was then conferred the Master of Surgery in Plastic Surgery from the Universiti Sains Malaysia. Dr Akmal was selected as the recipient of the prestigious John D. Constable International Travelling Fellowship, awarded to only one international plastic surgeon annually by the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS). During this fellowship, he trained with renowned leaders in aesthetic plastic surgery across the USA - in Atlanta, New York, and Newport Beach, California. He further honed his craftsmanship in aesthetic surgery by completing the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Istanbul, Turkey. Dr Akmal has received several academic awards and accolades. Notably, his description of a breast reduction technique won the best oral presentation at the London Breast Meeting in 2016. His thesis on facial attractiveness was awarded the best poster presentation at the 3rd International Burn & Wound Conference in 2019. He has co-authored several scientific publications and a textbook chapter on burn injuries and received innovation awards in recognition of his contributions to the field of burn surgery. Dr Akmal specialises in aesthetic eyelid and facial rejuvenation procedures, nose surgery, breast enhancement, high-definition liposuction, fat transfer to the face, breast, and buttocks, and body contouring surgeries. He remains particularly passionate about the care of patients with burn injuries, skin cancers, facial trauma and deformities in children, and chronic wounds such as diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers.
